A Foreign Student of UAD Became the Favorite Winner on Speech Competition in UNS
Nguyen Thi Thu Thao, a student of Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) from Vietnam became the favorite winner in the national speech competition at the State University of Surakarta (UNS). The theme of the activity is “strengthening sense of nationalism through the Role of Indonesian Language and Literature in Interaction among the Global Society” Saturday, November 19, 2016.
The competition organized by State University of Surakarta was attended by seventeen participants. There were thirteen participants of local students and four participants of foreign students from several universities in Java.
UAD through International Affairs Office (KUI) delegated two participants. they were Abdulraoof Taha Ali Al-Maktari, a student of Chemical Engineering Program from Yemen presenting speech entitled "Indonesian Culture in the Globalization Era: As Identity or Commodity" and Nguyen Thi Thu Thao delivering speech entitled "Indonesian Language in Public Space and Social Media". At this competition, a representative of UAD, Nguyen Thi Thu Thao was crowned as the most favorite participants.
Nguyen Thi Thu Thao achievement this time was the second achievement attained by foreign students of UAD. One month earlier, UAD student team also won the Storytelling Competition as the best participant at the University of Indonesia.
Head of the International Affairs Office, Ida Puspita, M.A.Res. said that UAD strongly supports foreign students in sharpening interests and talents through various national and international competitions.
