Suka Kepo, Mahasiswi UAD sampai Papua Barat

Anisyah Rachmaningtyas, harus menerima keadaan hidup jauh dari sinyal komunikasi, listrik, dan sumber air. Mahasiswi Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) Yogyakarta ini menjelaskan bahwa dirinya suka kepo dengan kehidupan di pedalaman. Dan sekarang, ia benar-benar tahu seperti apa kondisi nyata daerah pedalaman.

Beberapa pekan lalu, ia mengikuti program pengabdian masyarakat dari Youcan Empower Indonesia bersama dengan delegasi dari Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY). Delegasi ini ditempatkan di Papua Barat sejak 16-29 Januari 2018. Untuk dapat mengikuti program dan masuk ke dalam tim delegasi, harus menempuh seleksi yang ketat.

Amma, mahasiswi Pendidikan Matematika UAD beserta rombongan ditempatkan di Desa Warengkris, Kecamatan Waisai, Kabupaten Raja Ampat, Papua Barat. Dari penjelasannya, ada beberapa tim yang terbagi ke dalam beberapa divisi.

“Divisi pendidikan mengajar di sekolah, mengajar mengaji, dan bermain bersama seperti menggambar, origami, kerajinan tangan, serta lainnya. Divisi ekonomi mengadakan bazar murah dan pemberdayaan pengolahan sumber daya alam. Divisi lingkungan menyelenggarakan program papanisasi, bersih desa, pembuatan TPA. Sementara divisi kesehatan mengadakan praktik dan sosialisasi pembiasaan hidup sehat, senam sehat bersama, dan pemeriksaan kesehatan,” paparnya.

Mengajar di sekolah pedalaman dan bertemu penduduk asli sangat menyenangkan. Baginya, yang paling berkesan ketika anak-anak disuruh menyanyi lagu kebangsaan dan lagu-lagu nasional, mereka sangat antusias dan hafal.

“Pengalaman di sana sangat mengesankan. Benar-benar membuktikan nusantaranya Indonesia. Anak-anak di sana sekolah atau pendidikannya terbatas. Pakaian seadanya, tidak memakai alas kaki, buku tulis satu orang satu untuk semua pelajaran, dan jauh dari akses manapun. Di sisi lain, mereka sangat menyukai lagu anak-anak.”

Ketika ditanya alasan mengikuti program ini, Amma menjelaskan karena hati nurani. Ia menyukai kebudayaan Indonesia dan sangat kepo terhadap kehidupan di pedalaman. Selain itu, orang tuanya juga mendukung. Amma mengaku, hidup di pedalaman membuatnya sangat fokus terhadap pekerjaan dan dalam melakukan segala hal. Banyak yang telah dicapai sesuai dengan tujuan karena tidak terganggu dengan dunia digital.

“Sebenarnya dari Youcan Empower itu ada dua lokasi, di Raja Ampat Papua Barat dan Atambua Nusa Tenggara Timur. Nah, kalau di NTT Ibu sama Ayah kurang mendukung karena lokasinya berbatasan dengan Timor Leste yang rawan konflik. Jadi, orang tua lebih mengizinkan di Raja Ampat.” (doc/ard)

Debut UAD FC 2018

Universitas Ahmad Dahlan Football Club (UAD FC) mengawali laga resmi di 2018 dengan mengikuti turnamen Walikota Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY). Laga ini juga menjadi pertandingan pertama klub berjuluk “The Sun Shine” dengan nakhoda baru, Anang Hadi.

Bertindak sebagai Head Coach, legenda PSS Sleman ini berduet dengan mantan penjaga gawang PSIM, Oni Kurniawan sebagai pelatih kiper. Keduanya akan menakhodai UAD FC mengarungi berbagai kompetisi dan turnamen sepak bola yang akan diikuti sepanjang 2018, termasuk kompetisi UAD FC di Liga 3.

Pada pertandingan pertama turnamen Walikota DIY, UAD FC ditahan imbang oleh POP dengan skor 1-1. Sempat tertinggal terlebih dulu di menit 74’, tujuh menit berselang UAD FC mampu menyamakan kedudukan berkat gol Febi di menit 81’.

Anang Hadi menyampaikan, anak asuhnya masih butuh waktu untuk adaptasi dengan gaya bermain yang baru. Selain itu kesolidan tim juga masih kurang, mengingat ada beberapa pemain yang baru bergabung dengan Orion UAD FC.

“Kami bersyukur atas hasil dari laga pertama ini. Laga awal biasanya memang sulit, masih perlu meningkatkan kesolidan tim. Yang tidak kalah penting adalah taktik dan stamina, saya melihat beberapa pemain belum berada pada kondisi fisik terbaiknya. Di pertandingan berikutnya, kami menargetkan untuk menang,” tandasnya.

Pertandingan selanjutnya, UAD FC akan bertemu PPAKY (7/2/2018), Manggala Siwo PWI (10/2/2018), Derby Muhammadiyah dengan HW UMY (13/2/2018), dan Mas Junior (16/2/2018).

Synergy is Needed to Face New Challenges in Guidance and Counseling Field

The National Seminar, Inauguration and Regional Work Meeting of the Association of Indonesian Counseling and Guidance (ABKIN) for all branches in Yogyakarta had the theme "Challenges and Opportunities for Guidance and Counseling in Social and Cultural Disruption". This theme was carried out to find solutions to current issues related to counseling and to improve synergies among universities and the quality of counselors.

Present as the speakers were Prof. Dr. Mungin Eddy Wibowo, M.Pd., Kons., (Chairman of PB ABKIN) and Fathur Rahman, S.Pd., M.Si. (Chairman of PB ABKIN DIY). On this occasion, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) was trusted as the host. The event was held on Campus 4 UAD on Jln. Ringroad Selatan, Tamanan, Bantul, on Sunday (28/1/2018).

In his speech, Dr. Suwarjo, M.Si., the Chairman of ABKIN DIY for the period of 2009-2013 and 2013-2017, expressed his opinions on the new challenges faced by counseling guidance. He said that these new problems could not be overcome conventionally.

"Guidance and Counseling study programs needs to work together to learn from each other. There are many universities that have Guidance and Counseling study programs, if all are in synergy, any problems can be solved. For example, just like this activity, we can conduct seminars, work meetings and ABKIN training which can improve the quality of teachers, lecturers, and counselors. "

It must be noted that ABKIN is a professional organization in Indonesia which consists of guidance and counseling teachers and counselor. Initially, this organization was named Ikatan Pembugas Bimbingan Indonesia (IPBI) which was established on 17 December 1975. At the inauguration procession, several lecturers of BK UAD were elected as the administrators of ABKIN DIY for the period of 2017-2022.

Meanwhile, the Vice Dean of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) UAD, Dr. Suparman, M.Si, DEA., expressed his great appreciation of the activity in his speech. The reason is because AKBIN can be a form of synergy among universities and schools. (ard)

UAD is the Only University that was Awarded CSR

A total of 27 companies received the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) 2017 awards presented by Sindo Media (Sindo Weekly, Koran Sindo, and Sindonews.com). Of the many companies, only one university was included to receive the award, namely Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD).

UAD received the award from CSR in education field at The Ballroom Hotel Aryaduta, Jakarta, on Thursday (25/1/2018). The award was in regard of UAD's contribution to education. The rector of UAD, Dr. Kasiyarno, M.Hum., who represented UAD in receiving the award, said that the education in Indonesia needed attention. Moreover, he said that there were still many schools where it was not feasible to conduct teaching and learning process properly due to lack of facilities.

In 2017, UAD made an action by rebuilding Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah (MIM) Wonosobo. The school, which was established since the 1980s, was helped by UAD because it was in a really bad condition.

"UAD gave a total donation of about 3.5 billion to buy the land, build the school, and occupy it with necessary educational items," explained Kasiyarno.

The school that is located in Wonosobo, Banjarejo, Tanjungsari, Gunungkidul was not only helped in terms of the building, but the teachers were also given training and salary.

The CSR assessed that UAD's contribution to schools was so great that it deserved an award. To date, CSR is known to give appreciation to companies that contribute greatly to society and environment through corporate social responsibility program.

The award is divided into several categories consisting of environment, education, health, culture, community empowerment, economic empowerment, village empowerment, sports, and CSR communication innovation.

CSR 2017 was attended by Minister of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Area, and Transmigration of Indonesia, Eko Putro Sandjojo, BSEE., M.B.A. and Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises of Indonesia Drs. Anak Agung Gede Ngurah Puspayoga.

PBSI UAD akan Gelar SEMNAS SAGA #1

 

Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia (PBSI), Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP), Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) akan menggelar seminar nasional Sastra Pedagogik dan Bahasa #1 (SAGA #1). Mengangkat tema “Paradigma Mutakhir Pembelajaran Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia pada Abad XXI”, PBSI UAD menghadirkan Prof. Dr. Sapardi Djoko Damono sebagai pembicara utama. Selain Sapardi Djoko Damono sebagai pakar sastra, PBSI mendatangkan pula pakar pembelajaran dan pakar linguistik yaitu Prof. Dr. Pujiastuti Suyata, M.Pd., dan Prof. Dr. Harun Djoko Prayitno, M.Hum.

Subtema yang disuguhkan untuk pemakalah antara lain paradigma pembelajaran bahasa dan sastra Indonesia; pembelajaran bahasa dan sastra Indonesia pada era internet; evaluasi pembelajaran bahasa dan sastra Indonesia; model pembelajaran bahasa dan sastra Indonesia; media pembelajaran bahasa dan sastra Indonesia; Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA); kebijakan bahasa dan sastra Indonesia; filsafat pembelajaran bahasa dan sastra Indonesia; serta literasi pembelajaran bahasa dan sastra Indonesia.

Bertempat di Hotel Grand Inna Garuda Malioboro, seminar nasional tersebut akan diselenggarakan pada Sabtu, 3 Maret 2018 mendatang. Batas penerimaan abstrak pada 7 Februari 2018 dan pengumuman abstrak diterima pada 10 Februari 2017. Makalah terpilih pada seminar nasional tersebut akan dipublikasikan dalam prosiding Online Journal System (OJS). Pendaftaran dan pengiriman abstrak dapat dilakukan melalui laman www.semnas.pbsi.uad.ac.id. (dev)

Fenomena Gerhana Bulan, Sinergi Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Agama

Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) melalui Pusat Studi Astronomi (Pastron) dan Lembaga Pengembangan Studi Islam (LPSI) bekerja sama dengan Majelis Tarjih dan Tajdid Pimpinan Pusat (MTT PP) Muhammadiyah menyelenggarakan kajian ilmiah serta salat sunnah gerhana bulan. Gerhana bulan total yang terjadi (31/1/2018) dapat diamati di seluruh wilayah Indonesia, diawali dari gerhana bulan penumbra dan diakhiri gerhana bulan sebagian. Secara keseluruhan, gerhana bulan bisa berlangsung selama lebih dari 5 jam.

 

MTT PP Muhammadiyah menyatakan bahwa yang disunnahkan untuk salat sunnah gerhana adalah selama fase gerhana bulan parsial dan gerhana bulan total, tidak mencakup pada fase gerhana bulan penumbra.

 

Rektor UAD, Dr. Kasiyarno, M.Hum., pada sambutannya menegaskan kajian ilmiah semacam ini akan terus dilangsungkan, terutama untuk mendukung perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan. Selain itu, menurutnya, fenomena gerhana bulan menjadi momentum untuk lebih mendekatkan diri kepada sang pencipta.

 

“Fenomena gerhana bulan yang terjadi saat ini bisa dijelaskan secara ilmiah, jangan mengaitkan dengan takhayul atau mitos. Di sisi lain, ada salat sunnah gerhana bulan. Ini menunjukkan antara ilmu pengetahuan dan ilmu agama memiliki sinergi. Kegiatan yang dipelopori Pastron dan LPSI ini merupakan bentuk kepedulian UAD untuk mencerdaskan masyarakat,” tandasnya.

 

Sementara, meski gerhana bulan tidak terlihat di langit Yogyakarta, masyarakat, dosen, karyawan, dan mahasiswa UAD tetap antusias dan berbondong-bondong memenuhi Masjid UAD di Jln. Ringroad Selatan, Tamanan, Bantul. Dari penjelasan pakar falak, Drs. H. Oman Fathurrahman SW., M.Ag., meskipun gerhana bulan tidak terlihat di langit, salat sunnah tetap dilakukan.

 

“Bukan masalah terlihat atau tidaknya, tetapi momentum atau kejadian gerhana bulan yang menjadi dasar kita tetap ingat kepada Allah Swt.,” paparnya saat mengisi kajian ilmiah setelah salat sunnah gerhana bulan.

 

Di sisi lain, Yudhiakto Pramudya, Ph.D., Kepala Pastron UAD mengungkapkan, sejumlah teleskop yang telah dipersiapkan Pastron tidak bisa difungsikan karena keadaan langit dipenuhi awan mendung. Namun, sebagai gantinya Pastron bergerak cepat dengan menayangkan streaming gerhana bulan di belahan benua Amerika.

 

Anggota Divisi Hisab dan IPTEK Majelis Tarjih dan Tajdid PP Muhammadiyah 2015-2020 ini mengimbau untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran mencintai astronomi melalui pengurangan polusi cahaya. (ard/doc)

UAD Appointed as a Model for Muhammadiyah Universities (PTM)

Educational visit is one of the programs often conducted by universities to share experiences in terms of campus management. In addition to strengthening good relations between universities, the main purpose of the visit is to study programs and systems that can improve the quality of the university itself. On Saturday (27/1/2018), Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) received an educational visit from Muhammadiyah School of Economics (STIEM) Bandung.

Abin, S.E., M.M., a lecturer of STIEM, explained that the visit made to UAD was to study its management, especially in Management study program, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB).

"Coming all the way from Bandung, we want to learn many things from UAD which is currently accredited A by BAN-PT. One thing that we want to explore is about the KKNI-based curriculum."

In addition, he and his colleagues wanted to have a discussion with other lecturers on advancing to get doctoral degree, as well as discussion with the students. Abin considered UAD as one of Muhammadiyah Universities (PTM) which can be a model for other universities to develop and improve their quality

The event was held at auditorium of Campus 1 UAD on Jln. Kapas 9, Semaki, Yogyakarta, and was also attended by representatives of FEB UAD lecturers and students. In his speech, Dr. Salamatun Assyadiah, M.Si., Dean of FEB, explained that educational visit was useful to share knowledge and maintain relations. Responding to Technology Challenges

Communication Science (Ilkom) study program of Faculty of Cultural and Communication Literature (FSBK), Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD), in cooperation with the Association of Communication Science Education (APIK) Muhammadiyah Universities (PTM) held a workshop at Grand Orchid on Tuesday-Wednesday (23-24/1/2018).

This event was entitled "Internationally Reputable Article Writing Workshop, Accredited Journal Management, and Work Meeting of APIK PTM 2018". Present as the speakers of the event were Prof. Dr. Widodo Muktiyo from UNS, Munawar A. Riyadi, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. from UNDIP, and Andri Pranolo, S.Kom., M.Cs. from UAD.

UAD Rector. Dr. Kasiyarno, M.Hum., expressed his great appreciation towards the event in his speech at the opening of the event. It is because UAD is a university that has a quick response to technological developments and focused on the improvement of human resources.

"Currently, there are 25 Communication Science study programs in PTM. Cooperation among PTM, especially in Communication Science field, is needed and is very important in this competitive era. In the future, communication science has tremendous challenges. Technology is getting more advanced, and humans must adjust immediately," said Kasiyarno.

In addition, he highlighted that lecturers and students had to increase productivity in order not to be colonized by technology, such as using devices excessively. Productivity can be done by generating creative, innovative, and quality ideas. Kasiyarno expressed his expectation for lecturers to increase the number of article publication in nationally- and internationally-indexed journals. (ard)

Mempelajari Sejarah untuk Bangkit

Program Pascasarjana Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) Yogyakarta menyelenggarakan bedah buku berjudul Arab, Kuno, dan Islam: Dari Kapitalisme Perdagangan ke Kapitalisme Religius. Buku karya Suwarsono Muhammad ini dibedah 2 pembicara, Prof. Dr. Musa Asy’arie dari UMS dan Dr. Yoyo, M.A., dari Magister Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) UAD. Acara yang berlangsung Sabtu (3/2/2018) di aula barat gedung kampus 4 UAD, Jln. Ringroad Selatan, Tamanan, Bantul, ini dimoderatori oleh Dr. Abdul Choliq Hidayat, M.Si., Dosen Magister Manajemen UAD.

Secara umum, buku yang dibedah berisi mengenai proses jatuh bangun peradaban dari sudut pandang ekonomi dan politik. Dari penuturan Suwarsono, jatuh bangun suatu peradaban bisa menjadi pembelajaran bagi sebuah bangsa untuk bangkit meraih kemajuan.

“Sejarah menjadi pembelajaran penting, tengok saja Tiongkok dalam kurun 5 dekade sudah bisa bangkit lagi. Seharusnya dunia Islam dan Indonesia juga bisa demikian dengan menjadikan sejarah sebagai pembelajaran.”

Sementara Prof. Dr. Achmad Mursyidi, M.Sc.,Apt., Direktur Pascasarjana UAD, dalam sambutannya menegaskan pentingnya ilmu pengetahuan yang dilandasi dengan nilai-nilai agama. Sinkronisasi keduanya akan membawa perubahan bagi individu maupun masyarakat untuk menuju negara yang maju.

Pada kesempatan yang sama, Dr. Kasiyarno, M.Hum., Rektor UAD, menyayangkan minimnya acara bedah buku di UAD.

“Bedah buku masih langka, padahal ini sangat penting. Dengan memiliki dan membaca buku akan menambah pengetahuan serta dapat membangkitkan daya kritis terhadap keadaan di era disrupsi,” paparnya.

Berbicara kapitalisme, Kasiyarno menganggap paham ini sudah cukup memengaruhi kebiasaan beragama, terutama dalam hal kebudayaan. Seperti yang ia sampaikan saat ini, banyak orang berilmu tidak mau menyumbangkan ilmu pengetahuan kepada orang lain dan tidak peduli dengan keadaan kesenjangan sosial. Orang-orang semacam ini menurutnya hanya beribadah dan mengejar kehidupan akhirat tanpa memedulikan kehidupan sosial di dunia. (ard)

Leadership Training Targeted UAD

Assembly of Diktilitbang Central Leadership (PP) Muhammadiyah held Leadership Training attended by leaders from 44 Muhammadiyah Universities (PTM) in Indonesia. The event which was held since Monday (22/1/2018) targeted Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD). The sessions that took place at UAD were about the best educational practices and were followed with discussions and shared experiences on PTM management in order to become a high-class university.

UAD, as one of the PTMs who just got accreditation of A from BAN-PT became one of the main purposes the Leaderhship Training participants attended the event. The presenters from UAD were the Vice Rector I, Dr. Muchlas, M.T., and Prof. Sutrisno who is a member of the Board of Daily Training (BPH). Furthermore, the Head of Board of Quality Assurance, Head of BISKOM, and several representatives from other bureaus and institutions.

In his speech, Muchlas explained that the Leadership Training was needed by leaders of PTM. "Training is needed to improve the ability of the leaders in managing universities to make it better in quality. A few years ago, UAD leaders also participated in this training," he said.

The main subject that was discussed in the best practice session was related to the synergy between the leader (rectorate) and BPH. The harmony between these two elements is very important in developing PTM into a university that can compete with the public universities. In addition, the main concern of the discussion was the development of university business and human resources management.

In the final session of the event that took place in the main court room of Campus 1 UAD on Jln Kapas 9, Semaki, Yogyakarta on Friday (26/1/2017), Sutrisno explained that with this kind of training, there would be a good cooperation among PTMs. He added, to make a PTM a superior university, there had to be synergy between leaders, BPH, lecturers and employees, and students.
