The main competences cover three domains:

Intellectual domain

1. Having knowledge and understanding in the fields of language, literature and culture of Indonesia
2. Having knowledge and understanding of the dynamics and development of Indonesian language, literature and culture
3. Having knowledge and understanding in the research methodology of Indonesian language, literature and culture
4. Having knowledge and understanding of techniques for writing scientific papers and popular works
5. Having knowledge and understanding of journalism and editing

Attitude and Behaviour Domain

1. Having pride in Indonesian language
2. Having an attitude of always being curious about the dynamics of the development of Indonesian language, literature and culture
3. Encouraging every effort of an interdisciplinary approach in the study of Indonesian language, literature and culture
4. Having sensitivity to the positive and negative impacts of the use of language and literary works in the society

Skill Domain

1. Skilfully communicating verbally and in writing using Indonesian properly and correctly
2. Skilfully applying concepts and theories in Indonesian linguistics and literature
3. Skilled at creating literary works in the form of prose and poetry
4. Able to edit scientific/ popular works and literary texts

The study program is supported by lecturers who are experts in the field of Indonesian Literature, consisting of 1 lecturer who has an academic position as professor and 9 lecturers who have a master’s degree from renowned universities in Indonesia, such as UGM, UNDIP, and UNY. Each lecturer has different competences, including: Literature, Culture, and Linguistics.

The lecture activities are supported by various facilities, such as air-conditioned lecture rooms and LCD projectors, online computer platforms, online library, computer laboratory, multimedia laboratory, language laboratory, studio, various collection of journals, theater 42, Gendhing Bahana, and other student activities.
