BIOLOGY EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAM
The Biology Education Study Program organizes creative and innovative teaching and learning processes based on research and technology to produce quality human resources who have expertise in the field of biological science and education and have an Islamic-based IMTAQ through every academic and non-academic activity. The program produces research that supports the development of education and learning and provides expertise services to the community and related institutions in the field of science and technology-based biology education. Graduates of the program will hold a Bachelor of Education (S.Pd.) degree.

Competence
General competences of Biology Education program graduates:
- Able to utilize science and technology in their field of expertise and able to adapt to the situation at hand in solving problems
- Master theoretical concepts in a particular field of knowledge in general and the theoretical specific concepts in the field that field in depth, as well as being able to formulate procedural problem solving
- Able to take strategic decisions based on information and data analysis and provide guidance in choosing various alternative solutions
- Responsible for one’s own work and can be given responsibility for the achievement of the work of the organization
Specific competences of Biology Education program graduates:
- Able to utilize relevant science and technology within the scope of Biology education to design, manage, implement, evaluate and develop learning based on educational knowledge on Biology concepts that are oriented to life skills
- Able to use various learning resources and Biology learning media in accordance with the era to support the implementation of curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular learning
- Able to master the concepts, principles, laws and theories of Biology
- Able to master the theories and principles of strategies, models, approaches, methods and learning media in Biology
- Able to master the theories and principles of planning, management, and skills in conducting evaluation and development of Biology learning
- Able to identify learning problems and solve them using scientific methods in Biology education
- Able to take strategic decisions based on Biology information and data analysis in Biology education that can be used to provide alternative solutions to solve problems in Biology education
- Have independence and responsibility in carrying out one’s, duties including planning, implementing, evaluating, and reflecting as a Biology educator and as part of an organization
Lecturers
Lecturer competencies are divided into several fields of expertise, namely zoology, botany, education, ecology, genetics, and biotechnology. Minimum academic qualifications for lecturers are master’s degree qualifications for teaching undergraduate program in accordance with their field of expertise.
Supporting Facilities
Lectures are supported by a number of facilities such as lecture rooms with LCD and audio-visual facilities, library, mosque, canteen, parking space, and Wi Fi areas. There is also a PBAB (Development of Biology Teaching Materials) laboratory that is equipped with a study program library. In addition, Biology Education Study Program has a lab school, including Muhammadiyah 2 Depok Junior High School, Muhammadiyah Boarding School, and Muhammadiyah 3 Depok Junior High School. The lab schools allow students to conduct internships as well as a place of service for Biology Education lecturers, and as a form of mutually beneficial cooperation.
