One of the goals of the Islamic Education Study Program is to produce Islamic religious educators who are able to have a role in society as part of instilling Islamic religious education values. This is in accordance with the Study Program’s Vision, which is to become a study program that excels in the development and mastery of the science of Islamic religious education that has international insight, based on the values of the Qur’an and the Sunnah. Graduate competency is based on 3 (three) things, namely:
1. KnowledgeStudy program graduates are expected to have knowledge about Islamic education well so that when they have contributed to society, especially in education, they already have sufficient provisions.
2. SkillsStudy program graduates are expected to have good abilities, especially in explaining material or delivering material with good teaching methods or methods. One form of learning and improving skills is the PPL program to schools for teaching practice.
3. AttituteStudy program graduates as candidates for Islamic education clearly must have good behavior and in accordance with Islamic teachings. For this reason, getting used to improving behavior to students is always reminded of how to say and behave well and look Islamic.
Having 6 permanent lecturers with Doctoral degrees (1 person) and Masters (5 people) and plus non-permanent lecturers (20 people), both graduates of State and Private Universities in the field of Islamic Religion and Psychology.
In addition, lecturers also have competencies in the fields of Islamic Education Psychology, Interpretation, Hadith, Arabic Language, Sociology, English Language Education, American Studies (Culture & Literature), History & Islamic culture
Lecture activities are supported by various facilities and technologies such as LCD projectors, comfortable classrooms, on-line student services, and Wi-Fi areas.
Student practicum is supported by several laboratories such as Computer Laboratory, Mikro teaching, and field practice (PPL).
Field practice is carried out by collaborating with other parties such as the Muhammadiyah Middle School, Muhammadiyah High School / Vocational School in Kulon Progo with the aim of improving the ability of students.
