Engineering Drawing Training of Using SolidWorks Software
Industrial Engineering of Ahmad Dahlan University (TI-UAD) often uses wide variety of applications for the practicum needs. One of the applications is practicum engineering drawing (gamtek) which is now presented for the second semester. The software used in this gamtek practicum is SolidWorks. Typically, the SolidWorks performs upgrading for four to five years. For this year, TI will upgrade SolidWorks with different versions and will carry out special training for students.
SolidWorks is one of software used to design machinery part in the form of assembling with 3D view for part presentation before designing the real part or with 2D view for machinery process drawing.
“This training is aimed to improve the skill of lecturers and students in using the SolidWorks software,” said Reni Dwi Astuti, the person in charge of TI laboratory.
The SolidWorks training was guided by Aji Rahman and Rudy Subianto, the vendor of SolidWorks from Prosinergi. They came directly from Jakarta.
"Unfortunately, this training cannot be followed by all people. The maximum number of participant is only 10 participants consisted of 7 lecturers and 3 gamtek lab assistants, "added Reni on Wednesday (01/11/2017).
SolidWorks training was conducted in the laboratory of IT for 4 days, starting from Monday to Thursday at 09:00 am to 17:00 pm. But on Thursday, the training is only run from 08:00 to 10:00 am.
"After the training, there will be a certification exam to obtain certificate from Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) for only 2 lecturers, especially those who deal with gamtek practicum. They are Isana Arum and Okka Adiyanto," said Reni.
