Menristek Dikti Delivered a Public Lecture at UAD

Minister of Research, Technology of Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia (Menristek Dikti RI), Prof. H. Mohamad Nasir, Ph.D., Ak., admitted his amazement to the development of Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD). He conveyed his recognition when he delivered a public lecture at Campus 4 of UAD on Jln. Ringroad Selatan, Tamanan, Bantul, Yogyakarta on Thursday (22/3/2018). On the occasion, Mohamad Nasir also put the first stone to mark the new building construction as well as submitting the Deed of Establishment for Faculty of Medicine, UAD.

"Currently UAD should continue to develop by using modern technology in order to become a university that can compete on local and international level. Competition on the higher education level is not only focused on students and lecturers but, most importantly, is on how to create trust by not discriminating who wants to get education. There should be equity," he said.

Meanwhile, the Rector of UAD, Dr. Kasiyarno, M.Hum., said the university that he currently leads is continuously improving. The main focus is on improving human resources, facilities and infrastructure.

"UAD has received an accreditation score of A from BAN-PT which is a satisfactory score. However, we will not stop here. In accordance with the vision, we are committed to continuously develop this Muhammadiyah university to be internationally recognized while also instilling Islamic values," explained Kasiyarno.

In the public lecture entitled "Indonesia National Higher Education Policy in Facing Industrial Revolution 4.0", Menristek Dikti reminded that research, technology, and higher education are important factors in building nation's competitiveness to improve prosperity and justice. (ard)
