On Wednesday (4/5/2016), at the main conference room, campus I on Kapas street, no 9 Semaki, three UAD alumni were officially announced to teach in Thailand.
They were Putik Arum Sari from English Literature Study Program who would teach at Sangkhom Islam Wittaya School for 2 years from May 2016 to May 2018, Ambarwati Budi Rahayu as an alumnus of English Literature Study Program who would teach at Songsermsasana Vitaya School for 1 year from May 2016 to May 2017, and Melati Citra Pertiwi as an alumnus of English Education Study Program who would teach at Songsermsasana Vitaya School for 1 year from May 2016 to May 2017.
Previously. Those alumni were equipped with information about rules, culture, and Thai language by the head of Student Affairs and Alumni Unit (BIMAWA) and the head of International Affair Office (KUI) UAD.
The ceremony was attended by Vice Rector III and IV, Dean of Teacher Training and Education Faculty; Dean of Arts, Culture, and Communication Faculty, head of BIMAWA, head of KUI, head of English Literature Study Program, head of English Education Study Program, and staff of KUI. In addition, as in previous years, there were also alumni of UAD who had returned from teaching in Thailand last year. They shared stories and experiences when they were in Thailand, such as teaching experience, extracurricular and social life experiences in Thailand.
By having this sharing session, the UAD alumni who would teach in Thailand would get general overview of life in Thailand.
The head of KUI, Ida Puspita, M.A.Res. said that the program of alumni to teach that was started at the beginning of 2013 was one of the flagship programs of UAD international cooperation with partner schools in Thailand.
“This program is one of the UAD attempts to give provisions for alumni to the era of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). It is our hope that the alumni’s experience as ASEAN cross-country teachers can be 'ammunition' for them to compete in the AEC, " She explained.
