UAD Hosted National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the Assembly of Dikdasmen Muhammadiyah

Primary and Secondary Education Assembly (Dikdasmen) of Muhammadiyah Centre trusted Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) Yogyakarta as the host of National Working Meeting (Rakernas) 2018. The last time Rakernas was held was in 2015. The theme for the was "Strengthening Management towards Developed Muhammadiyah School/ Madrasah (Islamic School)/ Pesantren (Islamic Boarding School)".

In his speech, UAD Rector, Kasiyarno, M.Hum., who was also  as the chairman of the committee and Vice Chairman of Dikdasmen stated that there needed to be same perception among members and related institutions to face the problems of Muhammadiyah primary and secondary education. In addition, strategies are needed to address the increasingly diverse challenges.

"Through this Rakernas, we hope to find a solution to address the problems and challenges for primary and secondary education in Muhammadiyah. If not handled seriously, this will impact the educational products as well as the decrease level of public trust," he said.

Kasiyarno added that this Rakernas was to add insight, strengthen the ability of Muhammadiyah primary and secondary education institutions, and strengthen the vision to the international level. In addition, it was to promote the work program of the assembly in order to have continuous coaching.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah, Dr. Haedar Nashir, M.Si., on the same occasion expressed his expectation that the Rakernas could help Dikdasmen management improve.

"The Dikdasmen Assembly must work seriously in order to compete with the conventional schools. Nowadays, many conventional schools have put forward Islamic values, as well. There should be a breakthrough to make Dikdasmen education institutions more superior than other schools." (Ard)
