UAD to Send 10 Students to the Philippines

Ten postgraduate students of English Language Education (PBI) Program of Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) are going to construct their thesis at the University of Saint Anthony (USANT) Philippines for 3 months. This "Thesis Writing Supervision" program is a regular agenda of the Master Program of PBI and this is the sixth batch since it is first started.

From the explanation delivered by Dr. R.A. Noer Doddy Irmawati, M.Hum., as the Head of the study program, batch 6 consists of ten students selected based on their academic achievement, TOEFL, and research proposal.

"The level of the student enthusiasm to join the program is very high. It is because their thesis writing can be completed faster when joining the program. In addition, students will have experience studying abroad and can improve their ability to speak English,” she explained.

Judging from the graduates of PBI Master Program who have participated in the program, it is concluded that most of them are able to get jobs quickly and fill a strategic position. This program is one of the eminent courses that have been accredited A with a score of 371.

The release of the ten students was held in the main courtroom of UAD campus on Jln. Kapas 9, Semaki, Yogyakarta onThursday (1/3/2018) and was attended by UAD Rector. Kasiyarno, M.Hum., Vice Rector IV Prof. Sarbiran, Ph.D., and Head of International Affairs Office (KUI), Ida Puspita, M.A., Res. The students will be accompanied by three assistants from UAD; Dr. R.A. Noer Doddy Irmawati, M.Hum., Drs. Surono, M. Hum., Drs. Akmal, M.Hum., M.Sc., Ph.D.

Kasiyarno expressed his hope that the students could maintain UAD reputation while in the Philippines. He advised them to adapt to the environment and culture which are completely different from those in Indonesia.

The names of the students participated in "Thesis Writing Supervision Program" are Ima Frafika Sari, Dwi Indra Aprilliandari, Jusman, Prastyawan Aji Sugiharto, M. Saleh Ahalik, Abdah, Abas Oya, Ajid La Hanisi, Defy Gustianing and Antika Dwiyanti. (ard)
