Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) Yogyakarta organized a studium generale with two speakers from Japan, Prof. Hiroshi Nishino and Associate Prof. Mashiko from JICHI Medical University. The event was held in collaboration with The Council of Higher Education, Research and Development (Diktilitbang) of Central Board of Muhammadiyah (PP Muhammadiyah).
Rector of UAD, Dr. Kasiyarno, M.Hum., expressed his gratefulness to the two speakers who had been willing to share their experience and knowledge in the field of health. He stated that he wished in the future there would be cooperation between UAD and JICHI Medical University.
"After the studium generale, we expect there will be cooperation between UAD and JICHI. The cooperation can be in the field of research, student exchanges, public lectures, and others which are related to the scientific field of health," said Kasiyarno in his speech on Wednesday (18/07/2018).
If the cooperation can be realized, its implementation can be done with the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy, and the Faculty of Public Health of UAD. The three faculties have health background, which is in accordance with JICHI Medical University.
It must be noted that JICHI Medical University was established to educate an ethical dedicated doctor to provide medical care in remote areas of Japan with limited medical assistance. It also aims to promote health and wellbeing of people living in the countryside, and contribute to the advancement of medicine. (ard)
