MDMC PWM Held A Simulation of Natural Disaster Victim Assistance at Persada UAD

Campus IV University of Ahmad dahlan (UAD), which is also Ahmad Dahlan Students’ Boarding (Persada), was full of thousands of people taking part in rehearsal of earthquake disaster victim assistance. 

The simulation involved many institutions such as MDMC (Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center) Yogyakarta Regional Board of Muhammadiyah Chiefs, BNPB (National Body of Disaster Control) Yogyakarta Chapter, Yogyakarta’ soldier and police squads, Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), Yogyakarta’s Fire Brigades, etc.

Besides that, for health and victim handling, MDMC PWM DIY cooperate with some local hospitals among others Sarjito Central Hospital, Bethesda Hospital, Yogyakarta’s PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital and Bantul’s PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital.

The location was chosen as the venue of the simulation by MDMC PWM due to some requirements. The location is at South Ringroad, Banguntapan, Bantul, which is strategic. Apart from this the simulation was done to make the students understand natural disaster, which often hits the area.

Persada UAD was considered as if it was a hotel named Five Stair Mozza. The Saturday (21/05/2016) simulation involved all students and staff staying at the building from 07.00 – 14.00 local time.

Before the simulation a briefing to evacuate victims and to prepare the simulation was given to some 120 students. The simulation took place for two days – Friday to Saturday (19-20/05/2016)

The event was broadcasted and documented by UAD TV, ADi TV, and some other national TV broadcasts. (AKN).
