Study Club: Provides Knowledge outside the Class
As achieving an A accreditation in 2915, Arabic Letters Department (BSA) at Faculty of Islamic Education and Teacher’s Training (FTDI) University of Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) manages itself to be more perfect at any aspects starting from the teaching and learning system, quality service, and its activities outside the class.
After the foundation of the students’ association of Arabic letters (HMPS BSA) in January 2015, the organization is very active in holding its activities involving the students outside UAD coming from all over Indonesia.
Recently the organization set a study club. Tuesday (27/6/2016) was its first agenda to facilitate the UAD students, who wanted to add their perspective on Arabic and Arab world by joining the club. About 40 students participated in the club to be held regularly every Tueday from 16.00 to 17.00 at Campus I UAD on Kapas Street no. 9 Semaki, Umbulharjo,Yogyakarta.
The agenda includes the discussion on Arabic linguistics, arts, and culture. The agenda is managed by Dr. Yoyo, M.A. dan Abdul Malik, M. Hum. the lecturers at BSA.
‘This Study Club is a good medium for the students to study Arabic. Don’t be enthusiastic at the beginning of the program for language is a habit. This suits to the habit formation.’ said M. Husni Arsyad a fifth semester student at BSA, who is the head of research and development of HMPS BSA. (AKN).
