Groundbreaking Event to Mark the Faculty of Medicine Buildings Construction

Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Menristekdikti), Prof. H. Mohamad Nasir, Ph.D., Ak., led the groundbreaking event for the construction of the Faculty of Medicine buildings of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) on Thursday (22/3). The ceremony was marked by the laying of the first stone done by the Minister of Research and Technology Dikti RI, which was followed by the Chairman of the Central Board (PP) of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir, M.Si., UAD Rector Kasiyarno, M.Hum., the Head of BPH UAD Prof. Dr. Yunahar Ilyas, Lc., M.Ag., Head of PP Muhammadiyah Diktilitbang PP Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Lincolin Arsyad, and the Chairman of PP 'Aisyiyah Siti Noordjanah Djohantini.

In his speech, UAD Rector said that the Faculty of Medicine buildings were going to be built in a specific way. The construction of the buildings will occupy a land of about 7000 m2 and will be a 7 floors high. The construction process will approximately take 6 months. In addition, an integrated laboratory of ​​21,000 m2 will also be built.

"Unlike the other faculties, UAD Medical Faculty buildings will not be combined with others. The construction of these two buildings requires a budget of about 340 billion rupiah. The high budget is due to specifications required to construct the buildings," said Kasiyarno.

UAD cooperates with PT PP (Pembangunan Perumahan) in the building construction in campus 4. The construction process applies the 24 hours-working-without-stopping system.

On the occasion, Kasiyarno also said that UAD as the implementer of higher education will support Kemenristekdikti programs. This support is one of UAD's commitments to help advance education in Indonesia.

At the end of his speech, he asked the leaders’ and stakeholders’ prayers in order for the construction of UAD lecture buildings to work well and rapidly, so that the society could directly feel its benefits. (ard)

UAD Officially Introduces Faculty of Medicine

At the west hall of campus 4 of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) on Thursday (22/3), Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education Republic of Indonesia (Menristekdikti RI). H. Mohamad Nasir, Ph.D., Ak., formally submitted the Deed of Establishment of Faculty of Medicine.

The Deed of Establishment was submitted to the Chairman of the Central Board (PP) of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir, M.Si., which was then forwarded to UAD Rector Kasiyarno, M.Hum. Thus, UAD can officially manage Medical Education study program (undergraduate and professional program).

Responding to this, Kasiyarno stated that UAD would soon prepare new students for the Faculty of Medicine.

"We will provide the needs for human resources, adequate facilities, and infrastructure. This is what also we said during the field evaluation last December," he explained.

On the occasion, Haedar Nashir explained that, with UAD, currently there were 11 Muhammdiyah Universities (PTM) with Faculty of Medicine.

"PTM must progress, not only in terms of physical aspect, but also in all aspects in order to support prosperity for the nation."

On the other hand, Menristekdikti advised that UAD continue improving to face the industrial revolution and competition with foreign universities. According to him, to win the competition, UAD had to maintain and increase public trust.

"UAD must have a strategy to win the competition. Management of universities cannot be implemented without plan. There should be at least smart work, hard work, and sincerity," he said. (ard)

UAD Campus 4 Equipped with Fantastic Facilities

Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) has completed the construction of Kampus 4 on Jln. Ringroad Selatan, Tamanan, Bantul. The building which is built on a 7-hectare land with 33,406 sqm of building area provides 4350 seats for student lecture comprising 14 rooms with a capacity of 30 seats, 64 rooms with a capacity of 60 seats and 1 room with a capacity of 90 seats. The 11-story building is also equipped with stairs, escalators and elevators for easy mobility.

Currently, kampus 4 of UAD has been used for lectures for Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Faculty of Islamic Studies (FAI), and Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA). In the next odd semester, Faculty of Industrial Engineering (FTI) and Faculty of Law (FH) will also join to conduct lectures in the new building.

UAD's main campus is not only functioned as a place for conducting lectures, since the general public can also come inside and visit the buildings, such as UAD Islamic Center Mosque which is now one of the icon of Yogyakarta and the many places that can be used as a place to take a break for tourists. In addition, on the east side of the mosque will also be built a Muhammadiyah museum.

This smart and green building building also provides observatory facilities for research, hisab verification for Tarjih Assembly of Central Board (PP) of Muhammadiyah, Research Center of Alutsista Defense, exhibition space, observation, gallery, and a cafe which is located at roof top.

The concept of smart building is designed for efficiency in energy use, water savings, health protection, increased productivity, and waste reduction which are embodied in environmentally friendly building facilities. The presence of fins outside the building helps air circulation in the room. Rain water that enters the storage pond is sent to ground water tank so that it can be redistributed.

For green building concept, there will be a city forest park in the middle of the main area to support the go-green program while maintaining the balance of nature. This campus can also be a place for an educational tour, i. e. campus tour that provides amphitheater, planetarium, and observatory place equipped with advanced telescopes to give insight into the field of astronomy.

Vice Rector II, Drs. Safar Nasir, M.Si., said that this building, which costs more than 370 billion rupiah, would be UAD's pride. In addition, although the construction of campus 4 building has been completed, the buildings quality on other campuses will also keep being improved. (ard)

Manajemen UAD Bekali Mahasiswa Kewirausahaan dan Perkoperasian

Koperasi di Indonesia secara kuantitas menjadi salah satu yang terbanyak di dunia dengan jumlah 212.315. Namun secara kualitas, masih jauh dari harapan. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan dampak koperasi terhadap produk domestik bruto Indonesia yang masih rendah, yakni sekitar 4,48%.

 

Meskipun ada kencenderungan meningkat, dirasa masih kurang, mengingat cita-cita koperasi adalah sebagai Saka Guru perekonomian Indonesia. Dari 200 ribuan koperasi di Indonesia, hanya ada 3 yang masuk 300 koperasi besar dunia. Dilansir dari International Cooperative Consultant (ICA), 3 di antaranya adalah Koperasi Warga Semen Gresik (KWSG), Kospin Jasa, dan Koperasi Karyawan Telkomsel (KISEL).

 

Sementara kontribusi Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) terhadap perekonomian Indonesia mencapai 60%. Tetapi, UMKM tetap tidak luput dari berbagai tantangan seperti akses permodalan, pemasaran, pengelolaan, perizinan, sampai harus bersaing dengan pemodal besar.

 

Dari segi pengelolaan, belum banyak UMKM yang mempunyai badan hukum yang jelas, sehingga UMKM masih belum bisa terjangkau oleh lembaga pembiayaan (bankable). Pemerintah sudah memberikan solusi dengan adaya Izin Usaha Mikro Kecil (IUMK) supaya UMKM dapat diakses oleh lembaga keuangan, tetapi masih harus disosialisasikan lebih intensif lagi.

 

Berangkat dari permasalahan tersebut, Program Studi Manajemen Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis (FEB) Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) menggelar seminar nasional tentang koperasi dan UMKM dengan tajuk “Mewujudkan Koperasi dan UMKM Berkualitas Kelas Dunia”.

 

Hadir sebagai pembicara Drs. Setyo Heriyanto, M.M. selaku Direktur Lembaga Koperasi Jasa Keuangan (LSP KJK) Jakarta, Dr. Purwoko, S.E.,M.M. yang merupakan dosen Manajemen UAD sekaligus Ketua Asosiasi Koperasi Pati, serta Drs. Tri Saktiyana, M.Si. yang menjabat sebagai Kepala Dinas Koperasi dan UMKM DIY.

 

Acara yang berlangsung Sabtu (7/4/2018) di auditorium kampus 1 UAD Jln. Kapas 9, Semaki, Yogyakarta ini bertujuan membahas strategi pengelolaan koperasi dan UMKM yang bermanfaat bagi kesejahteraan masyarakat. Selain itu juga sebagai wahana sosialisasi mengenai kebijakan pemberdayaan koperasi dan UMKM oleh pemerintah serta pihak terkait. Bagi mahasiswa, acara tersebut menjadi sarana pembelajaran mengenai kewirausahaan dan perkoperasian. (ard/doc)

PGSD UAD Bekali Mahasiswa Mitigasi Bencana

Program Studi Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar (PGSD) Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) menyelenggarakan kuliah gabungan mata kuliah Materi Pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS), Sabtu (7/4/2018). Kuliah ini dalam rangka menyambut Hari Kesiapsiagaan Bencana (HKB) dan menyiapkan calon pendidik Sekolah Dasar (SD) yang tangguh terhadap bencana.

 

Kegiatan yang dilaksanakan di ruang kelas lantai 3 gedung baru kampus 5 UAD diikuti oleh 350-an mahasiswa PGSD semester 4. Hadir sebagai pemateri Budi Santoso, S.Psi. dari Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC) Divisi Pengurangan Risiko dan Kesiapsiagaan.

Menurut Budi, saat ini para calon pendidik harus dibekali dengan kemampuan terkait kebencanaan. Minimal harus menguasai manajemen dan mekanisme kesiapsiagaan.

“Kemampuan tanggap bencana harus dimiliki calon pendidik. Mereka adalah agen perubahan yang memiliki potensi meminimalisir dampak bencana,” tandasnya.

 

Ia menambahkan, semua elemen di masyarakat, termasuk perguruan tinggi harus berkontribusi mengurangi risiko terjadinya bencana. Dari penjelasannya, bencana terbagi menjadi beberapa, di antaranya bencana alam, non-alam, serta bencana sosial.

Sementara salah satu dosen pengampu mata kuliah Materi Pembelajaran IPS, Kirana Prama Dewi, S.Sos., M.Pd. menjelaskan, kegiatan ini untuk memaksimalkan potensi calon pendidik dalam mewujudkan sekolah yang tangguh bencana.

“Kami ingin menyiapkan calon pendidik yang tanggap terhadap bencana. Materi yang disampaikan merupakan pengetahuan mengenai gejala alam dan mitigasi yang juga diajarkan di SD,” jelas Kirana. (ard)

Buruh Gendong Pasar Beringharjo Ramaikan Fashion Show

Sejumlah 33 buruh gendong pasar Beringaharjo, Yogyakarta, Kamis (5/4/2018) tampak sumringah saat mengikuti lomba fashion show di Pendopo Timur Pasar Beringharjo. Kegiatan ini dalam rangka memperingati Milad Fakultas Farmasi Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) Yogyakarta ke-22, Hari Kartini, dan Hari Kesehatan Dunia.

Bermodal tenaga, jarik selendang, dan keranjang, ibu-ibu yang kebanyakan sudah berusia lanjut tampak sangat antusias mengikuti acara hingga usai. Panitia menyediakan hadiah dan bingkisan bagi para peserta. Yang membuat acara ini menarik perhatian pengunjung, meskipun sudah tidak muda lagi, mereka terlihat lincah dan tanpa malu-malu saat beraksi.

Menurut Ryan Budi Nuryanto, panitia pelaksana acara, fashion show khusus buruh gendong baru pertama kali diadakan di pasar Beringharjo. Penilaian tidak didasarkan pada kecantikan atau penampilan modelnya, melainkan lebih pada keoriginalannya. “Yang kami nilai adalah teknik gendong yang benar serta penampilannya saat menggendong. Ibu-ibu ini tampil secara natural tanpa riasan,” ungkap Ryan.

Kemudian yang perlu diperhatikan lagi, Fakultas Farmasi UAD juga menggandeng tukang pijat tuna netra untuk membantu melakukan pijat refleksi. Dekan Fakultas Farmasi UAD, Dr. Dyah Aryani Perwitasari, Apt.,Ph.D. menjelaskan, pihaknya sengaja memilih pasar Beringharjo sebagai lokasi pengabdian masyarakat.

“Buruh gendong perempuan adalah pekerjaan yang kurang mendapat perhatian. Bisa dilihat, ada banyak ibu-ibu lanjut usia yang secara kesehatan sudah bukan waktunya untuk bekerja,” kata Dyah di sela-sela acara.

Farmasi UAD ingin memberikan perhatian khusus kepada komunitas yang belum banyak tersentuh. Salah satu cara yang ditempuh dengan melakukan pemeriksaan kesehatan gratis meliputi tekanan darah, asam urat, gula darah, pijat refleksi, konsultasi kesehatan, serta pengobatan gratis. (ard)

UAD Dipercaya sebagai Host Halaqah ke-4

Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) dipercaya sebagai tuan rumah penyelenggaraan Halaqah ke-4 bekerja sama dengan Kantor Utusan Khusus Presiden untuk Dialog dan Kerja Sama Antar Agama dan Peradaban (UKP-DKAAP). Acara yang diselenggarakan Rabu (4/4/2018) di kampus 4 UAD, Jln. Ringroad Selatan, Tamanan, Bantul, Yogyakarta ini bertajuk “Wasathiyah Islam untuk Peradaban Dunia, Konsepsi dan Implementasi”.

Halaqah diadakan untuk menyongsong Konsultasi Tingkat Tinggi (KTT) Ulama dan Cendikiawan Muslim Dunia tentang Wasathiyah Islam yang rencananya akan diselenggarakan tanggal 1-3 Mei 2018 di Bogor.

Disampaikan Din Syamsuddin, Ketua UKP-DKAAP, halaqah ini merupakan proses merancang naskah tentang pemikiran Indonesia untuk KTT Wasathiyah Islam di Bogor. Akan hadir dalam agenda tersebut Syekh Al Azhar Ahmad Muhammad Toyib bin Toyib, Syekh Abdullah bin Baya yang mendirikan organisasi Islam di Abu Dhabi.

“Halaqah ini adalah penjelmaan atas hakikat Islam yang disebut sebagai agama Wasathiyah. Selain mengembangkan kerukunan umat beragama di Indonesia, kami memiliki kesepakatan yang di dalamnya ada etika tentang kerukunan. Untuk itu, maka kami undang ulama dunia agar melihat Indonesia. Di tengah krisis peradaban, Indonesia menjadi lirikan dan harapan. Indonesia memiliki tanggung jawab peradaban dan kesejarahan,” terang Din.

Sementara Rektor UAD, Dr. Kasiyarno, M.Hum., dalam sambutannya mengucapkan terima kasih telah dipercaya UKP-DKAAP sebagai tuan rumah penyelenggara Halaqah ke-4.

“Terima kasih kami dipercaya sebagai host pertemuan penting dalam rangka merumuskan Wasathiyah Islam. Semoga acara berjalan lancar sampai KTT di Bogor nanti,” ujarnya. (ard)

Liga Internal UAD Resmi Bergulir

Liga internal Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) Yogyakarta merupakan liga sepakbola yang diselenggarakan dengan tujuan sebagai sarana pengembangan bakat mahasiswa. Selain itu, yang tidak kalah penting untuk mempererat silaturahmi antar-prodi dan fakultas, serta mengenalkan klub sepakbola UAD FC.

Menurut penjelasan Yudhiakto Pramudya, Ph.D., pembina Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (UKM) Sepakbola, liga internal UAD 2018 diselenggarakan atas inisiasi UKM dan manajemen UAD FC.

“Liga ini ajang silaturahmi bidang olahraga antarmahasiswa, dosen, dan karyawan. Kemudian yang menjadi perhatian utama adalah pemantauan bibit muda untuk UAD FC yang akan berlaga di Liga 3 Regional DIY,” ungkap Yudhiakto.

Sementara dari manajemen UAD FC, Ulinnuha Yudiansa Putra, S.E.,M.Acc., Ak. mengharap akan terjaring bibit unggul pemain sepakbola dari mahasiswa UAD. Ia menambahkan, penjaringan ini sebagai bentuk dukungan pembinaan karier non-akademik bagi mahasiswa.

Bibit unggul yang terjaring nantinya akan diseleksi dan dimasukkan ke UKM Sepakbola, Orion UAD (kompetisi kota Yogyakarta), dan juga UAD FC (liga 3).

Total ada 21 tim yang ikut dalam kompetisi yakni terdiri atas program studi, fakultas, serta dosen karyawan UAD. Kompetisi menggunakan sistem grup. Ada 4 grup dengan masing-masing diisi 5 sampai 6 tim. Nantinya, yang berhak melaju ke babak selanjutnya dengan sistem gugur hanya juara grup dan peringkat kedua terbaik.

Saat ini pertandingan sudah memasuki pekan kedua, pekan pertama telah dimulai pada Sabtu (31/3/2018). Pertandingan  dimainkan di lapangan Potorono dan Tamanan, serta berlangsung setiap Sabtu dan Minggu. (ard)

UAD Allocates 2.5% of Revenue for CSR

As one of Muhammadiyah education institutions and universities (PTM), Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) has a social responsibility for the community. This responsibility is implemented with a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) budget allocation of 2.5% of UAD revenues.

"The funds are for the community including Maju Bersama Union program. Some CSR has been given to the victims of natural disasters, for community activities, and some organizations," said UAD Rector Kasiyarno, M.Hum in his speech for 57th Milad, Saturday (30/12/2017).

Recently, UAD provided assistance to University of Muhammadiyah of West Sumatra (UMSB) by donating 9 billion rupiah to build a new building for the university. Previously, UAD also built the building of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah (MIM) Wonosobo, in Tanjungsari, Gunungkidul which cost about 3.5 billion rupiah.

In addition to helping in the building construction process, UAD also provided training and education management training, as well as incentives for honorary teachers in the school which was 10 times their salary.

"For organizations, UAD regularly provides guidance for 30 Aisyiyah and Muhammadiyah educational institutions from kindergarten through high school for them to be a superior and independent school. Each year, UAD provides incentives of 375 million rupiah for ABA Kindergarten teachers in DIY, in collaboration with PWA DIY. In addition, UAD also provides assistance in financing the development of Muhammadiyah charity," he said. (ard)

Menristek Dikti Delivered a Public Lecture at UAD

Minister of Research, Technology of Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia (Menristek Dikti RI), Prof. H. Mohamad Nasir, Ph.D., Ak., admitted his amazement to the development of Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD). He conveyed his recognition when he delivered a public lecture at Campus 4 of UAD on Jln. Ringroad Selatan, Tamanan, Bantul, Yogyakarta on Thursday (22/3/2018). On the occasion, Mohamad Nasir also put the first stone to mark the new building construction as well as submitting the Deed of Establishment for Faculty of Medicine, UAD.

"Currently UAD should continue to develop by using modern technology in order to become a university that can compete on local and international level. Competition on the higher education level is not only focused on students and lecturers but, most importantly, is on how to create trust by not discriminating who wants to get education. There should be equity," he said.

Meanwhile, the Rector of UAD, Dr. Kasiyarno, M.Hum., said the university that he currently leads is continuously improving. The main focus is on improving human resources, facilities and infrastructure.

"UAD has received an accreditation score of A from BAN-PT which is a satisfactory score. However, we will not stop here. In accordance with the vision, we are committed to continuously develop this Muhammadiyah university to be internationally recognized while also instilling Islamic values," explained Kasiyarno.

In the public lecture entitled "Indonesia National Higher Education Policy in Facing Industrial Revolution 4.0", Menristek Dikti reminded that research, technology, and higher education are important factors in building nation's competitiveness to improve prosperity and justice. (ard)
