BPD DIY Granted 100 Million for Entrepreneurs

Bank Pembangunan Daerah of Special Region of Yogyakarta (BPD DIY) Granted revolving fund for productive enterprises and young entrepreneurs in DIY.  The fund is granted by BPD through agencies that is chosen to assist and manage the process of funding.

UAD with its community development agency (LPM) is one of the institution that is trusted to assist BPD in distributing the fund to entrepreneurs. It is because UAD evidently has commitment to produce entrepreneurs.

President Director of BPD DIY, Bambang Setiawan said that UAD is a higher education institution that has entrepreneurship subject in its curriculum, so that it can reinforce graduates to be entrepreneurs.

Fund of 80 million was granted for 15 small and medium enterprises (UMKM) under LPM UAD supervision. The mechanism of monitoring for this scheme is conducted once per 6 months for 3 years. While fund of 20 million is granted for 7 students-entrepreneurs who succeeded getting through the competition of Excellent Young Entrepreneur.

The President Director of BPD DIY, said BPD has responsibility to take a part in producing new entrepreneurs in DIY. By granting revolving fund, it will generate sense of entrepreneurship for youth.

BPD wants to help university graduates to create job, not merely look for job. Bambang said after attending the program “Granting revolving fund for UKM under LPM UAD supervision and for the winner of Excellent Young Entrepreneur” in assembly room, Campus I UAD on Wednesday (23/3/2016).

Rector of UAD, Dr. Kasiyarno, M.Hum., said UMKM receiving fund from BPD DIY are required to have good management in order to meet the target and be able to refund timely so that it can be revolved for other UMKM. UAD not only concern with educational development but also human resource development, he added.
