UAD Help Muhammadiyah Schools to Cooperate with International Institutions
A memorandum of understanding and memorandum of agreement were signed at the main hall of campus 1 University of Ahmad dahlan (UAD) Yogyakarta on Saturday (16/04/2016) by Dr. Kasiyarno, M.Hum and his counterpart Mr. Azis Samoh the chief of Thai’s Chariyanthamsuka Foundation to strengthen the already 4 year-run cooperation.
UAD has so far sent its alumni to teach English and Arabic to the schools under the foundation since 2012. According to UAD sources at oia.uad.ac.id, the agreements are not only to strengthen the cooperation but to help Indonesia’s Muhammadiyah schools to do the same.
In his speech Kasiyarno said, ‘We invite some Muhammadiyah schools here to give them a chance to internationally cooperate with Thai’s schools.’
The event was also attended by UAD’s head of English Department R. Muhammad Ali, S.S.,M.Pd together with some lecturers, a representative of Muhammadiyah Regional Board (PDM) and UAD’s staff of International Cooperation Office.
UAD invited some representatives of its counterparts such as from Muhammadiyah’s Nitikan Kindergarten, adn Macanan Elementary School, Muhammadiyah 3 Junior School, and Muhammadiyah 2 Senior School
Chariyanthamsuka Foundation agreed to continue its cooperation by providing some documents for UAD’s alumni to come to Thailand.
Meanwhile, the representatives of Muhammadiyah schools discussed some possibilities to make other cooperation with the foundation, which resulted in planning to hold an English Speech Contest next June or July followed by the signing of the agreement.

Dra. Alif Mu’arifah, S.Psi., M.Si., Ph.D., or often called as Alif is a lecturer at University of Ahmad Dahlan. Her post is the head of Pre-School Baccalaureate Study Program. Alif graduated from two universities at Baccalaureate Level i.e. Institute of Teacher Training and Education Yogyakarta (IKIP Yoygkarta) now known as Yogyakarta State University (UNY) and University of Proklamasi 45 (UP45) majoring in Guidance and Counseling. She continued her master at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) majoring in Clinical Study Program and obtained her doctoral degree from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2015.
