UAD Help Muhammadiyah Schools to Cooperate with International Institutions

A memorandum of understanding and memorandum of agreement were signed at the main hall of campus 1 University of Ahmad dahlan (UAD) Yogyakarta on Saturday (16/04/2016) by Dr. Kasiyarno, M.Hum and his counterpart Mr. Azis Samoh the chief of Thai’s Chariyanthamsuka Foundation to strengthen the already 4 year-run cooperation.

UAD has so far sent its alumni to teach English and Arabic to the schools under the foundation since 2012. According to UAD sources at oia.uad.ac.id, the agreements are not only to strengthen the cooperation but to help Indonesia’s Muhammadiyah schools to do the same.

In his speech Kasiyarno said, ‘We invite some Muhammadiyah schools here to give them a chance to internationally cooperate with Thai’s schools.’

The event was also attended by UAD’s head of English Department R. Muhammad Ali, S.S.,M.Pd together with some lecturers, a representative of Muhammadiyah Regional Board (PDM) and UAD’s staff of International Cooperation Office.

UAD invited some representatives of its counterparts such as from Muhammadiyah’s Nitikan Kindergarten, adn Macanan Elementary School, Muhammadiyah 3 Junior School, and Muhammadiyah 2 Senior School

Chariyanthamsuka Foundation agreed to continue its cooperation by providing some documents for UAD’s alumni to come to Thailand.

Meanwhile, the representatives of Muhammadiyah schools discussed some possibilities to make other cooperation with the foundation, which resulted in planning to hold an English Speech Contest next June or July followed by the signing of the agreement.

Getting Closer to Nature, the Remain of Ancient Volcano

Togetherness, patience, empathy, and care are expressed among 35 students of Ahmad Dahlan University UAD joining the program of Tadabur Alam (Getting Closer to Nature) held by the Council of Art, Culture, and Sport, Muhammadiyah College Student Association of Faculty of Islamic Teacher Training and Education (IMM TDI) UAD,

Male members of IMM (IMMawan) and female members of IMM (IMMawati) climbed hand in hand to the top of a mountain located at Nglanggeran, Gunungkidul,Yogyakarta Special Province (DIY).  All participants, the representative of each study program board of IMM UAD climbed up on Saturday (9/4/2016) at 19.30, and climbed down on Sunday (10/4/2016) at 09.30 local time.

Tadabur Alam was the last activity in a series of Gelora IMM TDI activities that had lasted for six months. This activity was aimed to get physical refreshment and to tighten the relationship among the members of IMM members at UAD so that they could refresh their mind and get socially closer one to another.

As long as 12 hours on the top of the mountain, all participants could see the beautiful and exotic panorama. During bonfire activity, participants shared their opinion about the program.

‘It is an unforgotten adventure. Here, I learn how moslems maintain their brotherhood. Awareness, empathy, and responsibility are lessons I can get from here” said Irma Sari, a participant from Faculty of Psychology UAD.

Beside bonfire, before climbing down the mountain, all participants took part in environmental preservation by picking up debris around the campsite as a result of the activities and all the way down the mountain.

Siska Ananda, a Communication Study Program student said ‘There are many lessons I can get from this event, i.e. the importance of togetherness. Here, I enjoy the marvelous and beautiful panorama Allah has provided to us’. (AKN)

Tadabur Alam di Gunung Api Purba

Kebersamaan, kesabaran, kepekaan, dan kepedulian senantiasa terjalin erat di antara 35 mahasiswa. Mereka tergabung dalam acara Tadabur Alam yang diadakan oleh bidang Seni, Budaya, dan Olahraga (SBO) Ikatan Mahasiswa Muhammadiyah Tarbiyah dan Dirasat Islamiyah Universitas Ahmad Dahlan ((IMM TDI UAD).

Bahu membahu IMMawan dan IMMawati terlihat ketika menaiki puncak Gunung Api Purba yang terletak di Nglanggeran, Gunungkidul, DIY. Peserta yang merupakan perwakilan dari beberapa Komisariat IMM di UAD, mulai melakukan pendakian pada Sabtu, (9/4/2016) pukul 19.30 WIB, dan penurunan pada Minggu (10/4/2016) pukul 09.30 WIB.

Tadabur Alam merupakan kegiatan terakhir dari serangkaian acara Gelora IMM TDI yang telah diadakan dalam kurun waktu enam pekan terakhir. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menyegarkan kembali jasmani serta mempererat tali silaturahmi antar PK IMM TDI maupun dengan PK IMM lain. Dengan itu, pikiran dapat segar kembali dan rasa kekeluargaan semakin erat pula.

Selama 12 jam berada di puncak Gunung Api Purba, peserta disuguhi pemandangan indah nan eksotis. Dalam kegiatan api unggun, peserta bermuhasabah dan memberikan pendapat terkait perjalanan selama pendakian.

“Sungguh perjalanan yang tidak terlupakan. Di sini saya diajarkan sikap seorang muslim terhadap muslim yang lain. Kepedulian, kepekaan, tanggung jawab, semuanya saya dapatkan di sini,” tutur Ima Sari, peserta dari Fakultas Psikologi UAD.

Selain kegiatan api unggun, sebelum melakukan penurunan di pagi hari, peserta mengadakan bersih alam. Kegiatan tersebut merupakan pemungutan sampah di area perkemahan, dan sepanjang jalan selama penurunan lereng gunung.

Siska Ananda, mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi Fakultas Sastra, Budaya, dan Komunikasi UAD berujar, “Banyak sekali pelajaran yang didapat dalam kegiatan Tadabur Alam ini. Gunung Api Purba telah mengajarkan betapa pentingnya kebersamaan. Di sini saya juga disadarkan bahwa betapa elok dan indahnya nikmat yang Allah berikan.” (AKN)

 

Figure behind The Successful Pre-School Baccalaureate Study Program of University of Ahmad dahlan (PG PAUD UAD)

Dra. Alif Mu’arifah, S.Psi., M.Si., Ph.D., or often called as Alif is a lecturer at University of Ahmad Dahlan. Her post is the head of Pre-School Baccalaureate Study Program. Alif graduated from two universities at Baccalaureate Level i.e. Institute of Teacher Training and Education Yogyakarta (IKIP Yoygkarta) now known as Yogyakarta State University (UNY) and University of Proklamasi 45 (UP45) majoring in Guidance and Counseling. She continued her master  at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) majoring in Clinical Study Program and obtained her doctoral degree from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2015.

Alif is one of Pioneers in PG PAUD UAD establishment in 2011. She was appointed as the acting head of the department and a year later she was officially elected the post.

Now, she is not only the head of department but also a lecturer at Guidance and Counseling (BK) and at Elementary Teacher Training (PGSD) Departments. Besides she teaches Educational Management at Educational Management and Science Post Graduate Programs. Formerly, she was also a lecturer at Health Institute of Aisyiah but later resigned for she prefers to focus her job at UAD especially at PG PAUD.

‘This year I ceased teaching at STIKES for I hardly have time except for UAD. I determine to develop PG PAUD,’ she said. There has been a lot of achievement she acquired among others getting one billion Grant shared with PGSD and Communication Department, Accreditation Grant, Grant from Ministry of Religious Affairs etc.

Besides her determination to improve her individual capacity, she actively carries out researches and writes in scientific journals. She hopes that PG PAUD be developed and produce qualified graduates for work.

‘Surely, she hopes PG PAUD be capable of competing with others, have its own laboratory schools for training. These are welcomed by the rector,’ Alif said.

 

Sosok Di Balik Kesuksesan PG-PAUD UAD

Dra. Alif Mu’arifah, S.Psi., M.Si., Ph.D., atau biasa disapa Alif adalah dosen di Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD), yang sekaligus menjabat sebagai Kepala Program Studi (Kaprodi) Pendidikan Guru Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PG-PAUD). Alif lulus sarjana S1 di dua universitas, yakni IKIP Yogyakarta yang saat ini di kenal Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) pada tahun 1985 dengan mengambil Program Studi Bimbingan dan Konseling (BK) serta Universitas Proklamasi (UP) 45 Yogyakarta mengambil Program Studi Psikologi. Ia mengambil S2 di Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) di Program Studi Psikologi Klinis, dan mendapat gelar doktor di Universitas Sains Malaysia (USM) pada tahun 2015.

Alif merupakan salah satu perintis berdirinya Program Studi PG-PAUD di UAD pada tahun 2011. Awal berdiri prodi tersebut, ia langsung ditunjuk sebagai Kaprodi sementara dalam kurun waktu setahun, barulah ia dipilih untuk menjadi Kaprodi resmi setelah SK diterbitkan pada 2012.

Saat ini, Alif tidak hanya menjabat sebagai Kaprodi PG-PAUD saja, tetapi juga diminta menjadi dosen pengajar di Prodi BK, PGSD. Sementara itu, di Pascasarjana UAD, ia mengajar di Prodi Manajemen Pendidikan dan Psikologi Sains. Di luar UAD, sebelumnya Alif mengajar di Stikes ‘Aisyiyah. Namun akhirnya melepas tugas itu karena memilih untuk fokus hanya di UAD saja, terutama untuk memajukan PG-PAUD yang dipimpinnya.

“Tahun ini saya sudah tidak teruskan yang di Stikes, karena waktunya untuk di UAD sudah luar biasa. Saya harus konsen untuk memajukan PAUD,” ucapnya.

Sudah banyak pencapaian-pencapaian yang didapatkan Alif. Di antaranya hibah lab. 1 miliar yang dibagi tiga  Prodi PGSD, PG-PAUD, dan Ilmu Komunikasi, kemudian hibah akreditasi 50 juta rupiah, hibah depag 187 juta rupiah, dan hibah 30 juta rupiah.

Oleh karena itu, di samping misinya untuk meningkatkan kualitas individu dengan eksistensi research dan menulis jurnal, ia juga memiliki harapan besar untuk memajukan PG-PAUD sebagai prodi yang berkualitas dan memiliki lulusan yang mampu bersaing di dunia kerja.

“Ya, harapannya PG-PAUD mampu bersaing, dan impian saya PG-PAUD nanti mempunyai sekolah sendiri, sehingga selain sebagai tempat pelatihan, mahasiswa juga bisa menggunakan sebagai tempat kerja. Hal ini disambut sangat positif oleh rektor,” ungkap Alif.

Prosetylizer Comrade or Sahabat Dakwah of University of Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) Held A Film Apprecitation and Entepreneurship Training

The importance of following different kinds of training is considered necessary for all people especially university students. Through these activities they can get new experiences useful for their future the changing era.

Due to this fact, University of Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) conducts such activities through its student activity programs to provide the students with different experiences ranging from seminar, discussion trainings etc.

This time, through Sahabat Dakwah, UAD prepares the students with entrepreneurship training and film appreciation. The event took place on Monday (10/04/2016) at Sargede Hotel Pramuka Street, Umbulharjo, Yogyakarta, from 08.00-12.00 local time. As many as 150 students enthusiastically took part in the event.

As for the presenters were the producers of a short film entitled ‘Bicara Cinta’ or talking about love Niti Nurdaelan and Fuadh Naum.

Attending the event was a representative of Islamic Study Development Board (LPSI) Budi Jaya Putra. Acting as a moderator was a fourth semester student of Elementary Teacher Training Department (PGSD).

The presenters dealt with how to be entrepreneurs and how to create films containing Islamic proselytizer for the community.

The students enthusiastically followed the program by asking questions on the topics moreover about youth. (AKN)

 

Sahabat Dakwah UAD Adakan Bedah Film dan Pelatihan Kewirausahaan

Pentingnya berbagai macam pelatihan sangat dirasakan oleh semua orang, terlebih mahasiswa. Mereka dituntut untuk menampung banyak pengalaman demi bekal dalam melakukan perubahan di masa yang akan datang.

Melihat hal itu, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) melalui organisasi-organisasi di kampus tidak henti-hentinya untuk mengadakan berbagai macam kegiatan yang akan membekali mahasiswa dalam melakukan pergerakan. Mulai dari pelatihan, seminar, diskusi, dan lain-lain.

Kali ini, melalui Sahabat Dakwah, UAD membekali mahasiswa dengan “Pelatihan Kewirausahaan dan Bedah Film”.

Acara itu dilaksanakan pada Minggu, (10/4/2016) di Hotel Sargede UAD, Jalan Pramuka, Umbulharjo, Yogyakarta, sejak pukul 08.00-12.00 WIB. Sejumlah 150 mahasiswa menunjukkan antusiasmenya dengan menghadiri acara.

Sementara untuk pembicara, didatangkan langsung dari pihak produksi film pendek yang berjudul “Bicara Cinta”. Di antaranya, Niti Nurdaelan (Produser Short Movie “Bicara Cinta”), juga Fuadh Naum (Direktur Short Movie “Bicara Cinta”).

Turut hadir pula Budi Jaya Putra sebagai wakil dari LPSI (Lembaga Pengembangan Studi Islam) UAD. Dengan Febtri Firman Asysyafii (mahasiswa PGDS semester 4) sebagai moderator.

Para pembicara tersebut memaparkan tentang cara berwirausaha dengan mengembangkan bidang perfilman, yang di dalamnya juga mengandung unsur dakwah kepada umat.

Dalam acara tersebut, mahasiswa sangat bersemangat dengan melontarkan beberapa pertanyaan mengenai materi yang dipaparkan. Apalagi, tema yang diangkat sangat berkaitan dengan situasi remaja saat ini. (AKN)

 

The Importance of Consistency or Istiqomah

‘Morning time is very good for us to refresh our knowledge especially on religious matters for they will open our minds.’

That was the message delivered by Sukardi as he was speaking at a religious address for the lecturers and administration staff of University of Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) last Saturday (16/04/2016). The event was attended by ustadz or teacher Fahrudin S.Ag. as presenter.

In the monthly program ustadz Fahrudin discussed how to realize one’s determination in accordance with his belief in Allah consistently.

According to him his determination to obey Allah is stated in syahadat or the statement to obey Allah and his messenger prophet Muhammad SAW as the first requirement to be a muslim. Nevertheless, many of them, who have declared the statement, do not obey to conduct Islam’s five prayers consistently. It indicates how difficult it is to accomplish the obligation consistently.

‘That is why to be istiqamah or consistent is important,’ said Fahrudin. ‘For the consistent all his deed and prayers are forms of his faith done only for Allah. All his lifetime activities are under Sunnah or order of the Messenger. Those morals govern the obedient continuously.

Moral is a matter of habit. Once somebody is accustomed to regularly fulfils the call for the deed, he will regret or say innalillahi wainnalillahi rojiun ‘everything belongs to and will be sent to Allah.’ On the contrary, those who disobey will always say dirty words and it is his habit.

Many muslims break their consistency. They think the most important thing is that they die in muslim that is enough. When dying he is able to say lailahaillah ‘No Lord but Allah.’ That is not that easy Fahrudin Added

‘Only those who are consistent will be able to do that die in muslim condition ‘khusnul khotimah,’ he concluded.
